MAC Forced Cooling Plants are designed to increase the load carrying capacity of high pressure oil filled pipe-type cable feeders by cooling the dielectric fluid circulating through feeder cable pipelines.

The cooling loop consists of the feeder, forced cooling plant inlet and outlet pipelines and the forced cooling plant. The oil absorbs the feeder cable heat while it is being rapidly circulated on the feeder from a pump located inside the forced cooling plant. The heated oil returns to the forced cooling plant and is cooled through an oil/air heat exchanger. The cooled oil is then returned to the feeder to repeat the cycle.
